I know it's summer and there a dearth of programmes broadcast but Saturday night entertainment seems to be full of cheap television with no content or substance worthy of the name! I always said that when there are so many channels available that programmes would cater for the lowest common denominator. That a not to say that there are not some great offerings but they are few and far between. The main channels are filled with crap devoid of any real content and seemingly made as wallpaper.
Intelligent content is in short supply but then I suppose intelligence is short supply in the general watching audience!

I like, so many have been shocked by all of the so called celebrities that are now ruined, rightly so, by having abused their status to molest, girls, boys, women and men! They have been found guilty and under the law been given their punishment. That so much of it went on with so little if not know outcry at the time, shows both the power of fame and the changing face of moral outrage that now prevails. It is proof positive that your past will eventually catch up with you, though it begs the question why did it take so long and who knew and swept these hideous perversions under the carpet?
It has unearthed a plethora of men ( and it is exclusively men) who take pleasure in child pornography and the molestation of other people. I find the whole subject disgusting and very difficult to understand. Like the majority of right thinking men, it as never in all my life crossed my mind to look at or seek out any form of sexual gratification that is not consensual or what society broadly accepts as "normal" .
It disturbs me to discover so many men get a perverse pleasure from such practices. I am not innocent but I am truly unable to understand what the appeal is?
It will regrettably continue and yet more revelations will be discovered and as someone said are there any celebs left from the sixties and seventies whom we can trust, left?
