Strikes, inconvenient, disruptive and costly? Damn those pesky people for wanting a decent wage! There is no good time to strike but if they don’t do it now, then when? There is no doubt that there are hundreds of thousands of workers that do not get paid enough and wages have not kept pace with the expense of living for a very long time. The strikes do not affect me but I support them and indeed I would go further and say there must be a general strike! It may not achieve anything but it also maybe the only way these politicians (Tory) might sit up and take actual notice, instead of sitting back doing nothing and absorbing themselves with their own internal leadership contest!

Profit, profit, profit at any cost. Do these large corporations not understand that if you pay decent wages you get better work and other benefits?

We have left a a giant mess for our children and in our case our newly born grandchild Hannah. Who knows what hardships she might have to face by the time she is an adult? Admittedly her parents are “well off” but circumstances can change very quickly!

What has happened to our once proud and independent BBC? They have been neutered by this government and now running so scared that they hardly report the news anymore and certainly don’t report anything that might be deemed as critical of their Tory masters. Their neutrality has been so compromised they shy away from controversy and say as little as possible, so as not to upset their masters and lose their precious licence fee. Frankly there is little they broadcast these days that is worth the price. Of course they are not alone in this, most of the large news sites seem to have an aversion to report any kind of anti-government news. For instance yesterday there was a huge march of the “Enough is Enough” campaign and not a single word was printed about it on either the BBC or Sky, nothing?

Perhaps with the benefit of hindsight it has always been thus but I remember the huge innovation and optimism that pervaded the sixties and in my early life everything seemed possible! What a fuck up we have made of it all. Technology may have enhanced our lives but it has not stopped the human race continuing to rip the world apart! History is goes around and around, we have ups and downs, never have we as a country so effectively bolloxed our future so badly as we have since 2016!

Stay well
