I don’t know about you but I am not a fan of podcasts or audio books. I’ve tried to listen to both and find them irritating. I have not listened to many podcasts but those few I have just seem to be two people droning on about whatever subject they have chosen fro 15 to 20 minutes without saying very much. Perhaps I need to listen to a few more but so far they just bore me. Audiobooks have a similar effect, especially if they are read by the author. I am so used to hearing my own voice express the text and reading the words that someone speaking them just doesn’t sit right with me! I started to listen to Eddie Izard’s autobiography and whilst he did warn he would go off on tangents and ramble, for me it was actually painful listening to him read his own book and it put me off reading it myself. I suppose I should not have expected anything else from Eddie!
I went for my second vaccination yesterday, which was fine, apart from a very mild headache, I have not suffered any after effects from either jab. Am I protected from the virus now, probably not but hopefully it will help to build an immunity? I found the mask to be restrictive when answering a number of questions and felt my answers were muffled so started to speak louder, emphasising my pronunciation. I know there is a lot of conflicting information about the vaccines and I venture no opinion as to what is or isn’t true, all I know is, for me, better to have than not. I suspect like so many things these days we are told what those in power want us to hear, it is very difficult to get to the truth about almost anything. I am sure it has always been the case but with so much more platforms to use for information the waters are so much more muddy.
Stay well
