When I was young in the fifties and sixties men where never to open about their feelings, it just wasn’t done. You kept your thoughts to yourself and just got on with stuff. Now we are encouraged to open up and discuss our inner most thoughts, which I welcome. I have always tried to be an open person but I am heartened to find that many men that I know are open to therapy and understand the value of mindfulness. A friend told me yesterday that for years he thought the Americans pathetic for their obsession with therapy but now he sees the value in it.
I am going to explore the possibility of getting therapy myself. I have an inner rage against the events of the world and particularly our government, that disturbs me in a way that I cant quite explain. Of course the pandemic has not helped and I am sure I am not alone in the anxiety that has been engendered by it!
The human condition is a complex one which I have often tried to see in simple terms. Often I brushed aside those who have experienced all sorts of emotions as trivial even though I was well aware that such mental strain was far from that.
I will report on my progress.

Word of the day: COWQUAKER A storm or thunderplump so heavy or dramatic it makes every animal quake

Stay well
