And we are in. Moving was not as stressful as we might have imagined. We started at 8am and were in the new place before 3pm. We had the good sense to request a key undertaking and it allowed us to get the keys long before the completion. We felt sorry for the others in the chain that had to wait until after 4.15pm before they could get access. For future reference if you are moving in this area I can recommend Northampton Removals they were brilliant.
We already have most stuff sorted, though naturally it is a mess here and there and a huge thank you to son Adam whose help was invaluable. We already feel very much at home and are delighted to be out of our previous house. It needed it a lot of renovation and the contrast of the new apartment is huge change.
I was conned by my wife when we transported the cats. She took the male cat Pudding who I thought would be the noisy one. I took the female Madame Roxallana who I mistakingly thought would be the calmer one? She screamed the whole way like a banshee, it was like driving with a howling pack of wolves! When I went to pick up the keys the woman at the estate agency asked what the noise was coming from the car and I told her it was our cat! They seemed to have settled in and have had one quick wander outside. Wendy later laughing admitted she knew how loud Roxallana could be which is why she rushed off with the other one and drove off!
I am currently sitting in my bay window typing this looking out over the gardens and am as happy as a I’ve been all year, now it is finally over.
Stay well
