Day 137
Todays words:
Bang a bonk to sit idly on a river bank Gongoozle to sit staring at a Canal or a stretch of water Swullocking Sweltering, sultry Sverdle To nestle quietly
We went for the furthest journey by car we have been on for a long time and certainly since lockdown started, to visit my sister. Inevitably on the M40 return journey there was a 40 minute hold up as they filtered all traffic into the inside lane for 500 yards and then it ended. It only stiffened my resolve to not go any distance unless absolutely necessary (no offence Sis!)
I have no pearls of wisdom or advice today. Other than an old favourite of mine first heard in the film Strictly Ballroom “A life lived in fear is a life half lived” somewhat appropriate at present. We all have ambitions we would like to fulfil, places we would like to visit, things we want to do. Often we are prevented from doing so by events beyond our control or duties and responsibilities we simply cannot abandon! However I urge you if you can, don’t wait, if it is achievable go for it! We have a desire to spend our remaining years living in Crete and i have recently asked what is it we are waiting for? Okay the current circumstances are not favourable but once they are why are we not going?. We are not taking up permanent residence just going for a few months at a time. Is there something you would like to do and in reality there is nothing stopping you? Why not do it?
Stay well
