A Jack Brew is army slang for making a cup of tea for yourself only as in “I’m alright Jack”
I have recently been involved in a project about healthy eating. I do not profess to know much more than the average person. Wendy is an “expert” on such matters and I suppose over the years I have learnt a reflection of the knowledge she has gained. Wendy is medically trained so understands both the physiology and metabolic aspects of the body. She would be the first to tell you it is a vast subject that we still don’t fully understand and that there is a lot of conflicting information and so called “expert” guidance out there. In these days of obesity, anorexia, body morphing, eating disorders, fitness fads, every sort of fitness trend or class , yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Aqua aerobics and every other type of gym based or extreme physical activity it is a wonder that anyone knows what is the right way to look after oneself? We are constantly told one thing only to have it contradicted almost the next day and sometimes within the same article! If I were to give any advice and I repeat I know very little it would be to eat sensibly and take some form of exercise. As a good friend of mine in Crete has pointed out keep your meal proportions small! Our bodies only behave the way we treat them. Our body only deals with what we put in it. It’s not your body your training, it’s your mind!
One last thing these extreme sports that people take part in, I have a question a simple question............WHY?
