Day 167
I have just found our that if you come from a place where a 14 day quarantine is required but go through a place where there isn’t within 4 days you only have to isolate for 10 days. Now call me stupid (and yes I get the maths) but that makes no sense. If I were Greece I would stop the British coming but they need our tourist trade. We have way more cases than they do! There is no doubt that Covid is not going away and keeps getting spread, so we need to make up ur minds do we lockdown again in another effort to control it more than we are able to now or do we keep going and take steps when necessary? Personally I favour the latter but understand the former maybe the best solution? It is bad enough that we are in an unprecedented pandemic and without a definitive vaccine stopping the spread of this virus is impossible. It would be helpful if we had a government that knew what it is doing and why it is doing it. They lurch from one poor decision to another and while I do not envy their task they have shown they are completely unfit to be in charge! Having said that it is easy to criticise, when you are not the one having to deal with the ever changing blight of this virus. The real problem is the lack of responsibility of so many people, which has been evident since this whole thing started. I have no idea how you control the uncontrollable and this latest law of no more than 6 people in a social gathering is no more than a band aid on a gaping wound! We have precious little police resource as it is and now they are tasked with yet another impossible monitoring. There will be those who see this latest rule as a challenge and they will find ways to defy it. I can only hope that good sense prevails but in my heart I am know there will always be those who care little for the common good and continue to go their selfish ways. This to will pass but I have little hope of it being anything but a long time in passing!
