Day 165
Good morning and I hope you will have a great week. I love women. A simple statement and I assure you meant as simply as it’s written. I have always supported women having real equality and not just paid lip service to so as men can continue to run things. In my opinion women (with some exceptions) will always make better leaders than men (not all men). I have been married for just over 40 years and whilst Wendy drives me nuts from time to time (as I do her) she is a much kinder empathetic , understanding and cleverer person than I am. She has this innate ability to care for people naturally. Not that I could (well maybe these days) swop being a man but if I could I wouldn’t, not with all the physical stages that seem to haunt your existence from periods to menopause. Us men have it easy. If there is one thing that I learnt growing up it was to respect all people but especially women, not in a patronising way but in (rather old fashioned now) gentlemanly manner. I would admit that in the past I have tolerated and even joined in with misogynistic humour but it never sat comfortably with me and these days I will always admonish the man who still clings to those values. I have met very few women whom I really disliked and when I have I’ve treated them the same way I would anyone. I am sure this sounds patronising, as all writing from men about women will often do but I truly mean it! In my time there has been much progress but there is still inequality and in many countries they are still second class citizens with few rights and subjugated by men usually in the context of religion. Until women everywhere have the same rights as men the world will continue to flounder in the grip of idiots. I hope one day the subject of equality for any person will no longer be anything other than that which is looked back on as a time of unenlightened stupidity!
Stay well
