Day 219
Had you noticed how I suddenly lost the day count? Back on track now.
A word about passwords. I understand the necessity but they have been a pain in the arse for a very long time. As the years have gone by I have lost count of the number of password I have on various website, apps, email etc etc! I know there are password savers built into operating systems and apps you can get to save them in an encrypted vault but then you have to remember the password to get into them. I started to write them all down (in a notebook) at one point but it did not help and is not exactly secure. Then there is the mind numbing problem of actually coming up with a decent password (that you can remember). They advise not to use the same password for everything, which would be easier. The suggestions that some sites use are so alien you have no chance of remembering them. So the constant game continues to keep up with whatever you used last time and you forgot and so had to reset the password once more. It’s exhausting! Okay in the great scheme of things it is a petty gripe but it drives me mad!
And whilst we are on the subject of computers. I received an email asking me to register on a portal for the partners of our estate agent, who will handle the conveyance. Naturally they need to comply with all the current regulations and therefore there is a long list of questions to answer. It is early days and the house has only just gone up for sale. I started to fill it in but have not finished it. Now I am getting emails and texts telling me that I still have tasks unfinished (currently six). They arrive at least twice a day (and it’s only been two days) So now I am getting hassled electronically! It is a bloody joke! I am sure it is generated by their website but it is a pain!
So another month or longer of lockdown. Not quite as strict as last time but lockdown nevertheless. I hope you all get through it safely and without to many problems.
Stay well
