The way some University students have been treated is scandalous. They are now being asked to travel as though they are escaping prisoners. They pay for this education even if it is deferred until a earnings trigger payback. There will be a generation of the young whose future has been blighted by the pandemic interrupting their education but to then be treated like some kind of pariah is unacceptable. The young are less responsible and will rebel against rules but then didn’t we all at that age! They definitely won’t feel valued or cared for they way some have been caged and corralled. Imagine how you feel being a parent of a freshly minted university student. The thrill and excitement of this new experience must have been severely tarnished by narrow minded, governors and the lack of compassion some University have shown! Yes the spread of the virus had to be contained but the lack of communication and draconian way it’s been handled is typical of the authorities in the UK.
I am now designing hand drawn abstract Christmas cards, in my somewhat idiosyncratic style, that those of you who read these pages will have sen each day at the bottom of the page. Let me know if you want any? No two will be alike!
