Day 117

I want to know why. I always have. It’s a simple question. Johnson says we may return to “normal” by December? That’s going to be one hell of an achievement I have not been “normal” for 67 years. He is good at pronouncements lousy at content. His mouth opens and you wish it was covered by a mask all the time with a time lock on it so as he can only say a few words at a time, giving his brain the pause to catch up! Governments seem to on the surface to be intelligent only to dissuade you from believing it every time they speak! Wouldn’t it be good if for once a government spokesperson actually made a definitive statement which did not conflict with or contradict previous edicts or even sentences in the same pronouncement? Politicians are not known for their straight talk but this lot have made it into an art form. I sometimes wonder if they sit round talking about it and then deliberately decide to confuse us just for laughs? If that is the case they are succeeding beyond their wildest dreams!
To be fair if you go on the Government website and read the guidelines/rules, they are reasonably well laid out and clear. However the caveats and logic of what and who can do what and when have no logic or practicality.
I asked at he start “why” and I know the answer is as always because! I know all the info is being collated, sorted and sifted, stats are being analysed and medical results qualified but it would be helpful to have a real definitive understanding of what their Covid-19 is? Do I ask too much am I being unreasonable? I don’t mind being confused but I do object to standing in a round container and being tole to piss in the corner!!!!

I attended my first “Writers Club” gathering since lockdown began and it was interesting to hear the different experiences of the others. They struggled to write while it was at it’s height, whereas I found it a rich vein of comment and interest. The subject for the next meeting is “The Long Weight/Wait”

Stay well
