Day 42
Those who praise this current bunch of pathetic wankers for governing the country in an efficient and well thought out manner must be living in an alternate reality. Johnson and his pro Britain gung ho resistance of the Blitz minsters and supporters have acted too slowly and woefully underestimated this crisis. You cannot bluster and bluff your way through a pandemic. It requires actual real governing and logistics. We are currently governed by glib phrases and wild promises that it will all be right in the end because we are British. We are governed by mainly men who have no real understanding of how the world works and it is not by jingoism and stand alone spirit. I have always tried to understand if not see others point of view but if you support Johnson then I’m afraid I have to say you are sadly misguided and you have been fooled by one of the ultimate bluff masters if not a con man.
He does not care. Like so many leaders around the globe, at present he is a narcissist, with little thought for anyone else but the person he sees in the mirror. He craves power and that is all he wants!
We continue in the UK to elect the wrong leaders and do not misunderstand, had Corbyn won I would not have been happy either, though he would have been a marginally better choice than this PM whose abilities are sorely lacking!
On Thursday we are asked to applaud the NHS and rightly so. Wendy and I have consistently forgotten caught up in whatever we are doing. Why does it take a crisis to suddenly become so appreciative of these doctors, nurses and all the other associated staff? I will bet you that once this crisis dies down (it won’t be for a long time) they will be forgotten heroes and this government will forget them most of all, their pockets won’t be rewarded in any significant increase! My Daughter in law Alex is a Matron and works for Intermediate Care. Even before this pandemic started she was working flat out over 70 hours a week in order to keep up. She is out everyday trying now to keep people out of hospital. She comes home and what free time she has is taken up by the admin and organisation of the team. At her level you could argue you she is well paid but she bloody earns every penny!
So today day 42 since I started writing each day and haranguing my very few readers (2) with my moans and opinions and there is so far no end to lockdown. Forgive me but as I have already said above, I have no confidence that this government will have a coherent plan to bring us out or for some sections of the British public to behave responsibly.
Wendy and I are upset with, let’s just say a friend, who has decided that it is safe to visit one of their children. Their explanation, they have both been in isolation for a long time and reasoned that it is safe. They may well be right but that is not the point. I had decided not to express my disappointment in this decision but it was brought up and naturally we agreed to disagree. It appears we were the only ones to do so? A lockdown rule is operation for good reason we hand many many others have not flaunted the rules, I will say no more, I have complained enough today and even I am getting fed up with myself!
Stay well
