We are indeed looking for the black cat in the dark room that isn’t there!
If your confused about how we precede it comes as no surprise! This is an unprecedented situation. We have no historical reference to help us. Whatever is said or done a large proportion of it is bound to be wrong or unworkable, how could it not! Don’t blame this government, the virus is not their fault, they did not cause it. I am no supporter of this cabinet or the Tories and yes they have announced some confusing statements, maybe they did not act soon enough and other countries have handled it better but what would you have done?. Has the public behaved uniformly to follow the guidelines.......NO! Will there be confusion and abuse regarding further guidelines.....OF course. Wherever humans are involved it will always be the case, freedom and individuality is one fo our greatest strengths and at times our greatest weakness.
My advice stop concerning yourself with what others are doing and concentrate on understanding what applies to you and yours. If you feel uncomfortable returning to work or to an activity then either don’t do it or take every precaution you can to protect yourself. This is as much a mental challenge as it is a health risk.
Personally speaking I am not going to let this virus rule my life. I am not one for hiding away and not getting on with it. Having said that I will not take undue risk either for myself or to cause it for others! Sadly I think our lives as we knew them will have changed for ever. It might be to early to understand the negatives and positives that will unravel as time passes but there will be both.
Tuesday and more of the same for us for now. I will not lie, even for a retired man it’s beginning to become a burden and whilst I have the mental fortitude to cope, I have great sympathy for those whose mental fragility is being sorely tested.
Forgive me for climbing aboard one of my constant hobby horses. It seems ironic that at a time when they needed calm measured caring leadership the USA has Trump. A man so far removed from any of those attributes it is laughable.
