Day 43

AAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There that’s out the way! Becoming a bit of drag now but on we go and as long as the death toll reduces and we are doing the right thing then lockdown must continue.

I read about the Professor, advisor to the govt. who had his lover over to his home. I wonder how many “lovers” there are who are separated by this virus pandemic and are unable to be together. Imagine (I still can, even at my age!) you have just started a relationship which has become physical and you and your new love are cut off from each other. Most of us have experienced  that first flush of sex. How frustrating must it be to have it torn away by a bloody pesky virus when your hormones are raging? We have all seen couples who, usually, in the first bloom of their passions can’t keep their hands off each other and only live for the next time they are together! Sex is a biological imperative, especially for the young and you fiddle and fumble your way to understanding what it is all about. Think of those whose sex life was about to bloom, anticipating that first sexual encounter and then lockdown, the agony must be unbelievable and the anticipation of being together again!

I read an article on what we might expect after lockdown is eased. If  “social distancing” is now a everyday requirement, then it seems to me we are in an impossible situation. Almost everything we do entails humans being in some contact with each other. There are very few activities that do not require some form of interaction, no matter how minimal? Because we are human it will be exceedingly difficult for us to adhere to the guidelines however carefully we try?
I understand that peoples lives must get back on track and commercial businesses in particular must re-commence. Store’s generally are designed for communal shopping. Tell me a supermarket, however restrictive they are about letting you in, you have been during lockdown, where no matter how careful you are social distancing is impossible?
It is a thorny problem and one I think we can only compromise on.

Stay well
