Day 47
Sunday 10th May Earth. My journey has brought me in orbit for the last 8 weeks by their measurement. My sensors have detected a planet rich in variation. Abundant vegetation, minerals, geography of every description, mostly covered in water it seems to be a place with a massively diverse biology. There are creatures of every conceivable variety from microscopic to huge giant marine life. I have recorded my findings and will study them at length on the next stage of my journey. There is one fact which Has been repeated everywhere I have been , the planet is dominated by one species. This species are of different ethnicities and are able to colonise nearly every part of their planet. Many of them congregate in large cities. My sensors have picked energy readings on a gigantic scale. The atmosphere of this world is badly affected by it’s constant output and my readings tell me that this change is rapidly getting worse.
There is hope if this trend can be halted but only rapid intervention can stop this inevitable slide into self destruction. It is a pattern all to familiar to me as I journey across the galaxies.
I will orbit this world for a little while longer, it fascinates me! At present there appears to be a worldwide common problem that has halted there normal lives. Judging by the broadcasts I have managed to listen to and my slow understanding of their many languages, the reports suggest they have a major epidemic raging across the planet. A disease of some type.
From what I have gathered they are seemingly helpless in combating it’s progress and have largely shut down. I have observed that their adherence to This requirement, of isolatIon, has been patchy and often broken. My understanding of their many announcements and “official” presentations, seems to be contradictory and mixed. Many are having to continue with normal activities which in most parts of this Earth is a preponderance to work, in many different and oft times odd activities.
My estimate of this species growth in population, informs me, that it will not be long before they will be unable to support themselves and sustain lives as they do now. Vast swathes of this planet has already been destroyed. Like so many worlds I have visited it is a recurring theme, millions of years of growth and then slow but steady destruction, as the sophistication of it’s inhabitants develops.
I wish I could warn them but I know it would be pointless and whilst they might respond to begin with, they would soon revert to their head long rush into oblivion?
I am no longer mystified as I was at the start of my travels. Nothing that the inhabitants of the many planets that sustain life do, surprises me anymore. I have come to expect it.
It is the cycle of natural progression where life flourishes. Very few of the planets I have observed have survived their own progress. Those that have had to change so radically it in itself almost destroyed them. Maybe when I return this way in the future I will be pleasantly surprised to find that this planet will be one of them. From my current observations I seriously doubt it!
Stay well Earth
